What is the Regional Occupational Program (ROP)?

ROP services, which are provided at many high schools across Los Angeles County, can help you learn a job skill, get work experience and on-the-job training, earn high school credits, and prepare for career training.

You are eligible for ROP if you are: at least 16 years old, in 11th or 12th grade, need job training, and/or have special needs. For more information about ROP programs and services or to find out what classes are offered at your high school, call (562) 922-6850 or ask your high school counselor for a list of ROP classes offered at your school.  You can also visit the following website for additional information: www.lacorop.org.

Note: under California’s new education financing system adopted in fiscal year 2013-2014, school districts are only required to fund ROP programs for the next two school years if they had an ROP program in the 2012-2013 school year.
