When you turn 16 years old, your CSW must complete a document (the SSI Screening Guide) to check to see if you are eligible. If you might be eligible, DCFS must inform the Social Security Administration (SSA) to start the process to see if you qualify. Even if you qualified for SSI before you turned 18, your eligibility will be redetermined once you turn 18.
